This is a hooked fid of my own design. Note the bentup rounded point.

The fid is used for making knots and undoing knotsas well as splicing.

"For years I used the standard type and thengot so frustrated with the

lack of a hook on the point of my fid to get underleather strands, so I decided to make my own".

This fid has a black rubber handle grip so it won'tslip in your hand.

There are 2 sizes:

Number 0 and number 01

Number 0 is for fine strands and very tight knots

Number 01 is for wider strands and splicing.
